I've read a lot about hypnobirthing and I have used hypnosis in my life with great success.. That's why I thought about using it myself to ease the pain while giving birth. I would like to share my idea how to do it yourself at home, without help of a hypnotherapist. I wrote it myself inspired by articles and books about hypnosis and tried to use phrases that won't do any harm. But remember consult your doctor before trying it, just in case.
You should record the text below and listen to it while you are pregnant - once a day or every second day.
Speak slowly with a normal tone of voice while you record. You can add some nice relaxing music in the background ( I just play some music from laptop while i read the instructions).
Then when you go in labor, just count 10 do 1 and relax! At least that's what I'm gonna try to..
BTW : English isn't my native language, so please correct any possible mistakes ;)
Hypnobirthing
Now become aware of your feet… now relax your calfs... let your knees and hips grow more and more comfortable… let the muscles become loose and limp and even more relaxed... Relax your waist... .. chest... arms.. Now you can feel less tension in your neck and face.. nice warm feeling in your closed eyelids. You aren't able to open our eyes. All your worries drift away. The heat wave flows through your body.. you can feel it on your face again, then neck.. arms.. chest.... waist.. down through your hips.. and calfs.. and toes.. All your worries flew away..
Now visualise number 100... wipe it off your memory.. now 99.... wipe it off.. 98.... wipe it off.. [ 97.. 96.. .etc.. - down to 1]
Now imagine a big blackboard in front of you.. Come closer and write down letter "Z"... and erase it now... Write down letter "Y."... erase it.. Letter "X"... erase it.. [...etc. untill you reach "A" ]. You are now completely relaxed..
Now imagine yourself at the top of the stairs. A few steps away you can see a big door. Touch the railing .. feel the touch of wood under your fingers .. slowly come down to the tenth step .. Now the ninth .. feel the soft carpet under your feet.. Eight ... seven ... six .. .. . fifth .. fourth ... third ... .. second.. and the first .. you're already on a lower floor, now approaching the door .. Reach the handle .. open the door ... sunlight warms your face, ... you can feel safe and peaceful now ... walk into a room ... it's your quiet place where you can do what you want .. . Stand in the middle of the room.. design it how you wish.. and now sit somewhere and listen closely to your own inner voice...
I do not have the fear of childbirth, I feel safe. Childbirth is a natural process through which my body will go without a hitch. It will be quick and almost painless, like an ordinary menstrual pain ... At the appropriate time I will Relax, reducing the level of adrenaline in my body, breathing evenly and rhythmically. I will let the natural mechanisms in my body do their job. During the contraction I am relaxed and peaceful, I concentrate on my body and my child. Natural oxytocin and endorphins are released in accordance with the progress of labor, facilitating its course. My body inhibits the secretion of adrenaline, so I am calm and relaxed ... I feel strong and powerful ...On the day of the birth, I will feel the happiness, joy and peace, and when labor starts I count from 10 to 1 .. I will come immediately into a state of relaxation and will remain there as long as I want. My relaxed body will work with the natural power of labor, providing comfort to me and my child.
The next time you listen to the recording, fall into an even deeper state of relaxation. Suggestions you hear, will fall in your memory even stronger than it have today. In a moment you will wake up, when you open your eyes, you'll be relaxed, smiling, full of energy. I'll count now from 1 to 5. When I get to the digit 5, open your eyes and you will feel great .. 1 .. 2..3..4..5. ".
